Call for Presenters



The Planning Committee invites you to submit a Proposal to Present at Techtober18 on Saturday, October 20, 2018. We are looking for experts in educational technology. Bring your expertise of maker spaces, coding, lesson design, STEM, STEAM, and many other trending topics in education today.  Also, we are aligning the session topics with CUE, they can be found here https://goo.gl/zR3Rv7.

Important Dates
- Call for Proposals Opens: November 1, 2017
- Deadline to Submit Proposal: June 30, 2018
- Proposal Status Notification: August 15, 2018

Session Formats
We are offering two types of sessions this year.

1. Concurrent sessions: 45 minute, 1- 2 presenters, lecture-style presentations that address any area of the curriculum and appeal to a variety of educators. 
2. Make & Take Workshops: 90 minute hands-on bring-your-own-device (BYOD) session where participants get a chance to learn about a topic AND walk away with a product created during the session.  1 - 3 presenters

Sessions may be given by a single speaker or team who can address the needs of the novice user of educational technology as well as the more experienced professional. Only the main presenter will receive complimentary event registration (excluding membership).

Meeting Space and Equipment 
All concurrent sessions (45 minutes) will be scheduled in breakout rooms with theater style seating, varying in capacity from approximately 40 - 60 attendees per room.   To ensure fire code compliance, chairs are not to be re-arranged.  

All workshops (90 minutes) will be scheduled in breakout rooms with classroom style seating, with a capacity of approximately 90 attendees per room.  To ensure fire code compliance, tables and chairs are not to be re-arranged.

Each break-out room is equipped with the following:
- Ethernet access for presenters
- Wireless presentation system
- High-definition laser projector
- Screen
- Wireless internet access
- VGA/HDMI input for presentation device* hook-up

 *Presenters are responsible for providing their own presentation computer, software, display adapters and/or additional equipment required for the presentation.
