The Gold Coast CUE Planning Committee invites you to submit a Proposal to Present at Techtober 18 on Saturday, October 20, 2018. If you are interested in presenting, please complete the online proposal no later than May 31, 2018 to ensure your proposal is submitted for review. In exchange for presenting a session, the presenter will receive complimentary event registration. (Does not include annual CUE membership)

Important Dates
- Call for Proposals Opens: November 10, 2017
- Deadline to Submit Proposal: May 31, 2018
- Proposal Status Notification: August 15, 2018

Guidelines for Proposal Submission
- Proposals must include a title, description (limited to 2-3 sentences), targeted grade level and/or content area; and three learning objectives (What do you want your attendees to take with them when leaving your presentation?) limited to 15 words or less.
- Presenters are required to assume responsibility for all costs associated with the presentation, including handout materials, travel, lodging, meals (outside of conference), and related expenses.
- We welcome proposals that focus and demonstrate appropriate non-commercial uses of information technology to support and improve learning, teaching, or administration in K-12 education or teacher education.

Concurrent Session Formats
- 50 minute Presentation: 1-2 presenters; Content should be of high interest and widely applicable to the broader audience. Content should educate, inspire, challenge, and/or provide specific implementation ideas. 
- 90 minute Workshop: 1-3 presenters; Hands-on exploration of software or resources via participants' own laptops or devices. Plan for an interactive, hands-on environment or activity-based session that provides focused exploration of instructional strategies and applications, and allow participants to delve more deeply into specific topics, learn new skills, and create new instructional materials. 

Meeting Space and Equipment 
Sessions will be held in breakout rooms located in the Conference and Educational Services Center. Rooms vary in capacity from approximately 18 - 60 attendees per room. Rooms are setup in a theater style setting.  Presenters are responsible for providing their own presentation computer, software, display adapters and/or additional equipment required for the presentation.

All breakout rooms are equipped with the following:
* Presenter Table/Chair
* Internet Connect - Hardwire for presenters only; Wi-Fi access for all
* Power Supply
* 1 Projector/Screen/Speaker System
* 1 DVD/VHS/CD player
* 1 VGA input for Laptop hook-up for PowerPoint , etc. (NOTE: We do not offer HDMI input. You will need to bring an HDMI to VGA adapter if your device does not have a VGA output. VCOE does not supply devices or adapters needed to hook up to our system.)
