Outstanding Teacher of the Year

The deadline to submit nominees for Outstanding Teacher of the Year is November 7, 2016 via the 2017 Awards Nomination Form
GC CUE Award Committee will review these nominations at their November meeting and select an Affiliate Winner!  


The Outstanding Teacher of the Year award recognizes a classroom teacher who has made a noteworthy contribution to educational technology in a classroom setting. Creating standards-based curriculum using technology is the key element in this award. Nominees must be classroom teachers and CUE members in good standing. Unless ineligible, award winner will become CUE's nominee for the ISTE Outstanding Teacher Award.

Awards:
1. CUE Affiliate Winner 
    - Complimentary CUE National Conference registration
2. CUE Winner Complimentary 
    - CUE National Conference registration
    - Individual plaque 
    - Name added to perpetual plaque in CUE's Hall of Fame.

Emerging Teacher of the Year

All nomination forms and requested materials for Emerging Teacher of the Year nominees must be RECEIVED BY December 8, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. PST via the 2017 Awards Nomination Form.

The CUE Outstanding Emerging Teacher award recognizes a classroom teacher who in the first 7 years of their teaching career has already made a noteworthy contribution to educational technology in a classroom setting.
  • A teacher that has worked part-time during these first 7 years counts any year in which they worked with students in the classroom for any appointment 50% or greater.
  • If a nominee served 49% or less, the year doesn’t count.
  • Partial years would be divided in the same way. Half or more counts, less does not. 
  • Regardless of the above, no teacher that has been working (part time or full time) more than 10 years shall be considered. 
  • Using technology to support standards-based curriculum is the key element in this award.
  • Nominees must be current classroom teachers and CUE members in good standing. 
  • Award winner will become CUE's nominee for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Outstanding Young Educator Award, unless ineligible as per ISTE's requirements.

Site Leader of the Year

All nomination forms and requested materials for Site Leader of the Year nominees must be RECEIVED BY December 8, 2016 at 11:59 pm PST via the 2017 Awards Nomination Form.


The Site Leader of the Year Award recognizes a school site principal or assistant principal (or equivalent) who has made a noteworthy contribution to promoting educational technology within his/her school. Recipients must demonstrate the following:
  • Strong support for the belief that all students can excel academically
  • Exceptional leadership in finding ways that technology benefits teaching and learning
  • Building staff morale or the learning environment
  • A commitment to educational quality and student achievement
  • A commitment to professional growth
  • Creativity and innovation in dealing with issues and problems facing education.

Technology Leader of the Year (formerly the TILL)

Technology Leader of the Year awards recognize local, state and national leaders in educational technology. Members of the broader educational technology community (not necessarily members of CUE) are eligible for recognition in this category for their contributions to advancing the mission of the organization. Unless ineligible, award winner will become CUE's nominee for the ISTE Outstanding Leader Award.
