CUE events are what got me to where I am now as the Coordinator of Ed Tech at OUHSD. I was so inspired by the potential that technology can provided our students. I have changed roles and now try to inspire teachers to see that same potential so that they can then pass that along to their students. I hope that being on the GC CUE Board of Directors allows another opportunity to help reach more teachers and thus, more and more students.

Why are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors or what influenced you to run for a position?

I am interested because I have been heavily involved in local EdCamps, CUE events, and my own local PD in my district for several years. I feel that I have built relationships and experiences that would be beneficial to the Board. I also believe strongly in what CUE does and the direction that it is heading. I would like to help and support in any way that I can.

What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives for Gold Coast CUE and what do you feel you can contribute in meeting these goals and initiatives?

I believe that outreach is a major goal. The Fall Tech Expo is such a wonderful event and at a great price for the quality of PD. We need to have more opportunities for educators to get together whether it's for formal or informal PD and collaboration opportunities. Getting more people involved and providing more opportunities would be a goal of mine.
