CUE Conference March 2012
Welcome to the Channel Islands: Digital Storytelling in Nature and Science
6th Grade, EO Green Junior High School, Hueneme School District
Jon Mortensen, 6th grade Science teacher, and 3 students from E.O. Green Junior High School, Hueneme School District, participated in the 2012 Student Technology Showcase at the CUE Conference in Palm Springs. The students presented personalized digital stories created as part of the Bay Watershed, Education and Training program (BWET), which provides students with the opportunity to explore the unique environment in and around the Channel Islands. Student stories focused conversation and restoration and highlighting the magnificent kelp forest.
Technology-based Science Investigation and Experimentation
5th Grade, McKinna School, Oxnard School District
David Llanes, 5th grade Science teacher, and 5 students from McKinna Elementary School, Oxnard School District, participated in the 2012 Student Technology Showcase at the CUE Conference in Palm Springs. The students presented their science projects with the use of the Promethean Interactive Whiteboard. Students used the Scientific Method and created PowerPoint presentations on their science projects.
